Barancik Foundation’s Board of Directors recently approved $3.2 million in grants to support vulnerable families, expand access to early education, bolster environmental sustainability, and more.
The funding includes:
$900,000 to Children First to expand early childhood education and family-support services.
$400,000 to Women’s Resource Center for programs to help single mothers achieve financial stability.
$255,000 to Pines of Sarasota Foundation for healthcare career training and childcare support for staff at nonprofit senior care community Pines of Sarasota.
$320,000 to Manatee Children’s Services for security upgrades and building enhancements at its Child Advocacy Center.
$1 million to The Bay Park Conservancy for resilient shoreline and water quality improvements in Phase 2 of The Bay Park.
$200,000 to Southface Institute to support energy and water efficiency upgrades at local nonprofits.
$115,750 to Longboat Key Police Department for an emergency driving simulator.
The Foundation also earmarked funds to pilot a board-governance training program for members of community groups that are traditionally underrepresented on civic and nonprofit boards. It will partner with Gulf Coast Community Foundation to offer the training.
With these latest grant awards, Barancik Foundation’s total grantmaking in 2024 has surpassed $27.5 million.
