Barancik Foundation works alongside a network of partners to address challenges that immediately affect people’s lives, and ultimately impact all of Sarasota. Our grants work in tandem, transcending single issues and improving our community holistically.
When students succeed, our entire community prospers. We are committed to supporting the most significant factors that respond to the needs of young people today. We invest in training and cutting-edge classroom technology to ensure teachers feel valued and effective, while creating opportunities for students to engage in the changing world around them. Our partners are creating pathways to fulfill educational potential by ensuring kids are safe, healthy, and ready to learn.
Our education partners see it every day: students from stable homes thrive while those living in unpredictable environments struggle both academically and behaviorally. We work with partners who help keep families in their homes and ensure those homes provide a sense of security. Their programs enable parents to put food on the table, develop a household routine, and create a more dependable home life.
From Sarasota’s families and children to its senior citizens, the Barancik Foundation advocates for those who struggle. We work with partners to offer mental and physical help to those who need it most. By integrating counseling and family support services into the nonprofits they already trust, those who need treatment find it in a familiar, risk-free environment. Providing help, as well as ensuring individuals take advantage of it, is vital to maintaining the mental and behavioral health of our entire community.
The poverty cycle’s impacts are far-reaching, and small setbacks can easily become insurmountable obstacles. We support our partners’ efforts to end the cycle, with programs to help Sarasota’s ‘working poor’ create means that are livable, and live within their means. By helping parents create more stability at home, we enable kids to focus on school instead of hunger, and everyone can achieve more.
We believe that the arts’ humanizing influence is educationally critical and socially essential. Especially important for low-income families, art exposes them to a variety of cultural and artistic influences, offering an opportunity to reflect and find a sense of peace and identity not possible in the chaos of everyday life. The cumulative effect is higher civic engagement, more social cohesion, and lower poverty rates. That’s why we strive to make the arts more accessible and inclusive, and encourage families of all backgrounds to participate.
Everyone deserves to live in a healthy home and enjoy a clean, pollution-free environment. We support programs that protect the environment and encourage people who might not otherwise experience nature to go beyond their neighborhood and learn more about their world. Our partners help families escape the stresses in life by interacting with nature and, after understanding its benefits, they become inspired to help preserve it for future generations.
