Our Board of Directors recently approved more than $4 million in grant awards to nonprofit organizations in the region.

The grants support several new initiatives designed to stabilize community members who are struggling and connect them with services that can help them thrive.  They come at a time when rising living costs and other challenges are increasing pressure on local support systems.

“These grants invest in smart projects that will make a tangible difference for families and strengthen our nonprofit partners that support them,” said Teri A Hansen, president and CEO of Barancik Foundation.  “Together, they advance key priorities of the Foundation, such as improving access to healthcare, nutritious food, and affordable housing.”

The new grants span housing affordability, food security, behavioral health, and nonprofit capacity.  Highlights include:

Harvest House – $1 million to support construction of Lakeview Village phase one, a 25-unit affordable housing community that will help stabilize essential workers (think teachers, case managers) and vulnerable seniors who are priced out of the market.

All Faiths Food Bank – $700,468 to pilot a choice market in Sarasota—set to open in early 2026—where families can access fresh, healthy food and be connected to additional community resources through an on-site case manager and agency partners..

Turning Points – $450,000 to support the pilot of its Connected Manatee program, which will offer families from Lincoln Memorial Middle School and Palmetto Elementary School access to a range of stability-focused homelessness-prevention services delivered from Lincoln Memorial Middle’s Family Success Center.

Women’s Resource Center – $425,000 to support the organization’s core programming and deepen its capacity to track and analyze client needs and outcomes, enabling WRC to better identify trends, forecast needs, and improve access to resources.  The grant includes $50,000 in matching funds to encourage additional support from the community.

CreArte Latino Cultural Center – $400,000 to enhance its organizational capacity and strengthen the center’s ability to deliver high-quality programming and foster community connections.  The grant includes $80,000 in matching funds to encourage additional support from the community.

National Alliance on Mental Illness Sarasota and Manatee Counties – $200,000 to support a new partnership designed to quickly deliver wraparound services to families when a youth age 12 to 17 is experiencing a behavioral health crisis.

With these grant awards, Barancik Foundation’s total grantmaking for 2025 surpasses $30 million, reinforcing long-term commitments to opportunity and resilience across the region
